John DOCHERTY - DirectorMore

After completing a Bachelor of Arts with an accounting major at Macquarie
University, John became a Chartered Accountant in 1975, and is now a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He also has his Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) and is a member of the Securities and Derivatives Industry Association, which enables him to give advice on direct share investments.

John worked in a large multinational firm in audit, tax and accounting before co-founding Rhodes Docherty & Co in 1979. The firm merged with the Gordon accounting practice Russel Hughes & Bond (RHB) in 2002. Then on 1 September 2008 Rhodes Docherty & Co merged with the Chatswood firm, M.S. Tunstall & Co.

John provides comprehensive business, financial planning, investment and tax advice. He believes that helping clients to achieve their goals is best done by ensuring that they adopt a business structure suited to their interests and activities, whether it be a company, trust, or sole tradership. This important advice is backed up with the preparation of cashflow and profit forecasts as well as the development of comprehensive business plans.

John also provides clients with advice across a broad range of areas, including tax, superannuation advice and audits, valuations of businesses and strategic planning, management accounting, mergers, sales, acquisitions and small business consulting.

John's interests outside of work revolve around his family - he is married with four children - and sport. John is an avid cyclist and particularly enjoys long distance touring.

Maria KRNJULAC - DirectorMore

Maria provides the Audit and Assurance leadership role within the firm and heads the Audit and Assurance Division. Before joining Rhodes Docherty & Co in June 2002, she worked in a Chartered Accounting firm in Sydney’s CBD from 1999 and prior to that as an accountant in South Africa. By working in South Africa and Australia, Maria has been able to gain international experience providing her with the global perspective necessary to better assist her clients’ needs in an expanding global market place. Maria specialises in the audit of small to large proprietary companies, incorporated associations, not for profit bodies and Australian Financial Services Licence Holders. Maria has also developed a high level of skill and experience in accounting and taxation and manages an extensive portfolio of small to medium sized clients across a wide range of industries. This wide range of expertise is used to provide meaningful, cost effective assistance to clients in a range of business issues.

Maria enjoys sporting activities such as walking, gym and spin classes. She also enjoys travelling and spending time with her family.

Carol REES - DirectorMore

Carol hails from South Africa, where she gained a Bachelor of Commerce
and Diploma in Accounting from the University of Natal and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1984. She initially worked as a group accountant for various companies before honing her skills as an insolvency accountant.  A move to New Zealand saw her continue her work in this area, and then taking on the role of financial controller for a stevedoring company.

Carol joined us in November 2002 and the firm has greatly benefited from her expertise and international experience. Carol heads up our Superannuation Division and also does general company tax work.

Carol is an outdoors person - she enjoys going to the beach and playing tennis, skiing, as well as going to the gym.

Simon ELLIOTT - DirectorMore

Simon is a skilled taxation and business advisor, with more than 19 years experience.  His career history includes working in management positions with top tier accounting firms, including three years with a 'big four' and more than 10 years with a mid tier firm.

He works closely with clients providing client advice across a range of areas including superannuation planning for high net worth individuals, fringe benefits taxation advice and capital gains tax and restructuring advice.

He provides Australian corporate income tax consultations, tax accounting and compliance services to a variety of clients including ASX listed companies, local subsidiaries and private companies from different industry backgrounds.

Simon is passionate about providing sound, high quality advice to his clients, delivered in a timely manner.

Outside of work he is a keen cricketer and enjoys riding his motorbike.


Rob has been involved in the accountancy profession since 1979. Having spent 13 years (his training years) working for 2 mid-tier city firms he has for the last 24 years been running his own small Chartered Accountancy practice in Pymble. Rob and his staff merged with Rhodes Docherty in July, 2017.

He likes to call himself a GP of the accountancy profession having had experience in most facets of the industry but his real passion is tax, small family businesses and self managed superannuation funds.  Rob loves working with businesses where the owners are also actively involved in the management.

Rob is married with 3 adult children, is a keen road cyclist, enjoys an afternoon at the football and loves most water sports especially sailing.


Joyce joined the firm in December 1986. Prior to this she spent 11 years in the Business Services Department of Touche Ross & Co. She also has international experience, having worked in accounting roles in London and South Africa.

Joyce's focus is mainly on clients who need advice with tax and personal investment issues. She also prepares financial accounts and looks after Company Title Units.

Joyce's hobbies include playing bridge and sports (especially cricket & tennis), and she also enjoys the odd quiet night in listening to music.


Mandy obtained a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from the University of Johannesburg and qualified as a CA(SA) before moving to Sydney from South Africa in February 2006. She worked for Ernst and Young in the audit and financial statements preparation departments until joining us in October 2010.

She became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia (ICAA), after completing the conversion course in 2007.

Mandy is married with one daughter and enjoys spending time with her family, travelling and scrapbooking.

Jayson VAN LISKMore

Jayson completed a double degree (Law and Finance) at University of Wollongong. Originally working in Risk Management for GE Capital, EY and HSBC before switching to Accounting, he has worked at Robert Warby & Co since 2004.

Jayson's focus is tax and accounting for Companies, Trusts, Super Funds and Individuals, as well as occasionally moonlighting as IT Support.

Outside of the office, he enjoys most water sports especially kayaking. 

Karen AYLINGMore

Karen emigrated from England in 2004 and has been working with Robert Warby & Co since 2005 gaining experience in tax and accounting for Individuals, Companies, Trusts and Super Funds.

Karen is married and has two grown up daughters. She is a keen netball player and enjoys most outdoor activities.

Francis WALSHMore

With bachelor degrees in Science and Commerce, Francis became a Chartered Accountant in 1979. She gained her taxation experience during 15 years at Price Waterhouse. As a tax manager she advised large corporations and individuals whilst building particular expertise in assisting United States and other expatriates with their taxation obligations and in NSW land tax matters.

In 1988 she retired temporarily to devote more time to her family. She recommenced working part time briefly as an analyst and educator in a financial research house before returning about 16 years ago to assisting individuals with taxation compliance in the practices of Mark Tunstall and his former partners in Chatswood.

Outside work Francis, a widow with two children, is actively involved in community heritage and adoption organizations as well as her family's business interests.

Wendy LINGMore

Wendy joined Rhodes Docherty & Co in November 2016. She holds a Master of Professional Accounting from Macquarie University. With a passion for tax and accounting, she is currently working towards her Chartered Accountant qualification and plans to complete CA program before 2018.

Outside of work, Wendy enjoys yoga, travel, photography, and spending time with friends and family.

Anita HUDSONMore

Anita joined the firm in November 2015. She is a Chartered Accountant and also holds a Master of Professional Accounting.

Anita has been working in the Business Services and Taxation area since 2009. 

She likes to spend her spare time with her family and friends being outside or having everyone over for a get together.

Nitin GULATIMore

Nitin completed Masters in accounting degree from Central Queensland University in 2007. He is also a member of CPA Australia and has been working in the accounting service industry since 2008.

He joined Rhodes Docherty in Feb 2017 and has been providing accounting and other business services to our clients.  Since joining, Nitin has focused on complex business structures, taxation, compliance and advice for companies, trusts and individuals.

Nitin is currently enrolled in the CPA program, which he looks forward to completing whilst working.

Apart from work, Nitin loves spending time with his family and travelling.

Lisa MCKEEMore

Lisa gained a Bachelor of Commerce from University of NSW. She then worked as a financial accountant, then commercial accountant and finally regional financial accounting manager at a global consumer goods manufacturer.

After having a few years break to raise her two children, Lisa joined Robert Warby & Co gaining experience with tax returns for individuals, accounts and tax returns for small businesses and self managed superannuation funds.
