Cassie completed a Bachelor of Business in Tourism at the Southern Cross University in 2003 and moved to Canberra after being offered a cadetship placement at a hotel. A career re-think found Cassie accept a trainee accountant position at a Chartered Firm and complete a Graduate Diploma in Financial Management in 2007. She joined Rhodes Docherty & Co superannuation team in November 2008.

Having grown up in Armidale, Cassie loves clean country air and enjoys outdoor activities including netball, waterskiing and walking. However, she can often be seen with her head in a book or doing craftwork - quilling and latchhook work are the favourites.
